About the project:

A Sacred Reverie in a Dead Nostalgia explores generational nostalgia as a shared and embodied experience. The piece draws on the notion of dead nostalgia: the longing for something that no longer exists, yet continues to leave traces in our bodies, identities and ways of relating to one another.

Through movement, live sound and sensory dramaturgy, the bodies become living archives where memory emerges as a physical, emotional and political force. An immersive experience moving between the intimate and the collective, between loss, desire and persistence.

About the creator:

Madrid-based dancer, creator and sound designer, trained in contemporary dance at the Mariemma Professional Dance Conservatory and at P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels), where she graduated in 2022. During her studies, she collaborated in creative processes with artists such as Philipp Gehmacher, Meg Stuart and Mette Ingvartsen, and performed works from the repertoires of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Salva Sanchis. Since graduating, she has developed her career as a performer, creator and sound designer in interdisciplinary dance and performing arts projects, collaborating with artists and companies including El Conde de Torrefiel, La Tristura and Didier Théron.

As a creator, she has co-directed MORFIA with Manu Pita-Romero, SPOOKY with María Jurado and DRØNE-HOWL with Laura Ramírez Ashbaugh, winner of the 39th Madrid Choreographic Competition. As a sound designer, she has worked on projects including This is la mort by Zoe Lakhnati, HÄXAN by George Marinov & Éskaton and Angelical by María Jurado. She currently lives and works in Madrid, where she is an artist-in-residence at Réplika Teatro and teaches Cuerpos Danzantes on the Diploma in Dramatic Arts. A Sacred Reverie in a Dead Nostalgia is her latest project, a stage work that delves into the relationship between body, memory and sound.
