About the project:

Impossible imaginar res does not stem from the adaptation of a novel, nor is it a free version of a classical text, nor does it revolve around a major theme; it is not based on a historical event nor centered on any turbulent period of humanity. The new work by ATRESBANDES seeks to emerge from uncertainty and from whatever material arises in the rehearsal room—drawing from the creators’ own imaginaries, but also from the circumstances and limitations of space and time encountered during the creative process.

It grows out of the intuitions and abilities the team brings in, without any predefined starting point or specific subject matter beyond imagination itself, which is placed at the core. They are aware that imagination is an elusive concept, difficult to grasp, one that disappears when named and engages the body, voice, and mind of the person attempting to approach it. Imagination is activated from two perspectives: that of the sender, but above all, that of the receiver.

About the company:

Formed by Mònica Almirall, Miquel Segovia, and Albert Pérez Hidalgo, the company ATRESBANDES has developed an eclectic trajectory since 2011, creating works of different formats and themes. Their work is difficult to categorize within a single discipline, but all their pieces share a common thread: a commitment to experimental theatre in which the creative process is central.
